What formula????

Since we were young and the idea of college has been planted in our brain we have been told that there are certain things you need to accomplish and you will definitely get into the college of your choice. All we need is to get great SAT scores, Get straight As, be a president of some club, play a sport or an instrument (you can have somewhat of a choice), and have a good relationship with your highschool to get the "right" recommendations. So all of students applying for college follow this suppose formula to get that acceptance letter from the college of our choice. But is that true? Is there really a formula, after reading this novel there is no formula. There is no way to determine that since the music department is lacking sax players to choose to play the saxophone because that would probably guarantee an acceptance letter. It honestly makes me extremely angry to see that if you play the "right" instrument you will get in to a university. They do not care how hard you worked on playing that other instrument or sport or becoming a leader in a club they only care about what their departments need. The college process of choosing is unfair and needs to change because its not depended on how well you do what you do it depends on whether what you do is needed at that specific university.
